Tracey's Story
Bump, Set, Spike!
Tracey Cessford is not only achieving her goal of staying fit through her love of volleyball, but is motivating others to get out on the court.
After moving to Visalia in 2006, Tracey joined The Kaweah Health Lifestyle Fitness Center to remain active and to meet new friends. “I like to stay fit and enjoy the social interaction with other players. I look forward to volleyball each Thursday and don’t like to miss a session”.
Activities staff member and volleyball coach Dorothy Collins is thrilled with Tracey’s progress and dedication over the years. “Tracey has been a faithful member of The Kaweah Health Lifestyle Fitness Center by coming to participate in beginning volleyball every Thursday night and only misses if she is out of town or on rare occasion when she is not feeling well. The improvement she has made in her volleyball skills even with physical challenges, have inspired many volleyball players over the years. Everyone in volleyball knows and loves Tracey”.
Tracey’s consistency and commitment to the sport is truly admirable. “I learned from Coach Dorothy not to give up when some things were hard for me. This has helped with my self-confidence” said Tracey.
Thursday night volleyball would not be the same without Tracey, her fun attitude and her great sense of humor. She has created genuine friendships over the years with her fellow teammates and encourages new members to strive to achieve their volleyball and fitness goals. “Go in and give it your all. You feel good when you achieve your goals!” said Tracey.
